My
heart goes out to each of you in this time of increasing uncertainty. Some of
you may already be directly affected by the COVID-19 virus, or are feeling the
effects of the emerging crisis due to closures and limited access to your
normal activities, as well as financial anxiety. Please know that my prayers
are with you, for your health, safety and well-being.
I want
to tell you that I was looking forward to a joyful start of Spring, and indeed
perhaps we can be cheered to whatever small extent by the warming of the new
season. I am also sensitive to the fact that the new season can bring its own
challenges in various parts of the country. What a complicated world we are now
living in! (If ever it was uncomplicated!)
To
celebrate Spring, I wanted to do a special sale of projects that had never
before been reduced. I want you to know that we've struggled with whether to go
forward with this sale, and have ultimately decided Yes. Yes, we want you
to have the opportunity to collect new projects, especially at a time when you
may need distraction and enjoyment. Yes, we need to keep our doors open,
and keep our employees employed; as a small business we are vulnerable.
Yes, we are grateful to each of you for your support, for some of you that
means decades of support. I deeply THANK YOU.
This "business" is deeply personal to me, and is
not simply a way for me to earn a living and support numerous households with
employment. Those of you who have known me for years know how important it is
to me to have my art connect with your hearts. I want you to know that I have a personal attachment to each of
you, to every email you send and phone call I hear about. I feel blessed by
your inspiration, by your stories. Perhaps this is the best time of all to use
our Facebook page to stay in touch. We'll do our best to respond - know that my
staff shares my feelings and when they respond on my behalf it truly comes from
me.
May God bless each of you and keep you safe.
